The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has warned Nigerians against a fraudulent website falsely claiming that nationwide online voter registration is currently ongoing.
In a public notice issued on Saturday, the commission said the website, pvc-inecnigeria-org.blogspot.
INEC disowned the website and urged members of the public not to click on the link or submit personal information through the platform.
The commission warned that doing so could expose users to the risk of having their sensitive personal data harvested or misused.
INEC clarified that the nationwide voter registration exercise ended on July 26, 2026, stressing that any information suggesting that a new online registration exercise is ongoing through the website is false.
The fraudulent platform reportedly advertises a purported “Final Phase of Nationwide Online Voter Card Registration,” offering services including updating voter details, transferring polling units and replacing lost or damaged Permanent Voter Cards.
It also falsely claims that voter registration and PVC delivery are free.
INEC therefore urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and obtain electoral information only through the commission’s official communication channels to avoid falling victim to fraudulent websites and cyber scams.
