The Ondo State Government says it will not abandon any of its ongoing projects across the state, assuring residents that all projects will be completed as scheduled.
The Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Hon. Idowu Ajanaku, stated this while featuring on a radio programme, Ondo Path to Progress.
Ajanaku said the administration of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa is determined to transform Akure into a model state capital that reflects its status as the administrative, economic and social nerve centre of Ondo State.
He explained that the administration’s infrastructure drive includes strategic road projects, urban renewal, improved traffic management and other critical infrastructure aimed at opening up the capital city and improving connectivity.
The Commissioner described the Akure Master Plan as a priority of the Aiyedatiwa administration, noting that the ongoing flyover project is part of efforts to address traffic challenges in the metropolis.
He assured residents that despite demands for various developmental projects from communities across the state, the government would ensure that ongoing projects are not abandoned.
Ajanaku also highlighted the administration’s investment in healthcare, including the renovation of health facilities and the recruitment of about one thousand health workers.
He said the government is equally creating opportunities for young people through various empowerment programmes, including support for artisans.
On the drive to move Ondo State from a civil service-based economy to an industrialised one, the Commissioner expressed optimism that the partnership with the Dangote Group on the Olokola Free Trade Zone would boost economic activities and create employment opportunities.
Ajanaku further noted that the state government is supporting agricultural development through the construction and rehabilitation of rural roads, as well as the provision of fertilisers and improved seedlings to farmers.
He urged the people of the state to continue supporting Governor Aiyedatiwa’s administration in its efforts to transform Ondo State.
