Ondo State has taken a major step towards modernising its public service with the launch of an Artificial Intelligence-powered platform designed to automate personnel records, payroll, retirement and pension processes.
The system, known as Ondo AI, was unveiled by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa as part of efforts to replace paper-based administrative procedures with a faster, data-driven and more transparent system.
For decades, public-service administration in Ondo state has depended heavily on physical files, manual documentation and lengthy approval processes. Those methods often created delays in accessing workers’ records, processing promotions, determining retirement dates and moving retirees onto pension payments.
The new platform is expected to change that as Governor Aiyedatiwa said a 21st-century public service could no longer rely on analogue systems built for a different era.
He described data, speed and accuracy as essential tools for effective governance, noting that the quality of government decisions depended largely on the quality of available information.
For Ondo State, the launch represents more than a software upgrade, it is an attempt to build a public service where workers’ records are secure, retirement is predictable, pension processing is smoother and government decisions are guided by reliable information rather than piles of paper.
