One person has been killed and 11 others injured following a second strike on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, the Saudi Arabian capital.
A Saudi military spokesman said a projectile struck the airport on Sunday, triggering a fire in one of its passenger halls.
The country’s civil aviation authority confirmed on X that the fatality was a Pakistani resident.
The latest attack came a day after an earlier strike on the airport reportedly killed 13 people and injured 308 others, following similar attacks earlier in the week.
Yemen’s Houthi group claimed responsibility for the attacks, warning airlines and passengers against using Saudi Arabian airports and airspace.
The group said it had targeted the airport with ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as drones, within the past 24 hours.
The Houthis also claimed attacks on oil facilities and Dammam Airport in eastern Saudi Arabia, according to their military spokesman, Brigadier General Yahya Saree.
Saree vowed to continue what he described as escalating operations deep inside Saudi Arabia, warning that all Saudi airports could be targeted except those in the holy cities of Mecca and Medina.
The Houthis said the attacks were in response to Saudi Arabia’s support for government forces in Yemen’s civil war and an air strike on Sanaa Airport.
