Peller made the disclosure during a livestream on Tuesday, promising viewers a session filled with “proper English” and “grammar.”
He said further details of the proposed session would be announced later, although no date has been fixed and it remains unclear whether Soyinka has accepted the invitation.
“I want to do a stream with Mr. Wole Soyinka. I will announce it soon and tell you guys what the plan is. It will be a proper English day on that day. You will hear some ‘grammar’ that day,” Peller said.
The proposed collaboration has generated interest because of the contrast between Peller’s humorous, informal streaming style and Soyinka’s reputation as one of Africa’s most distinguished literary figures.
Peller has gained popularity through livestreams featuring spontaneous conversations, comedy and interactions with celebrities and fellow content creators.
Soyinka, a renowned Nigerian playwright, poet and novelist, made history in 1986 as the first African to win the Nobel Prize in Literature.
The prospect of bringing the two personalities together has sparked curiosity about how the anticipated session would unfold, particularly given Peller’s playful reference to a day of “proper English” and “grammar.”
