The Ondo State Radiovision Corporation (OSRC) Media Group has mourned the death of Afenifere leader and elder statesman, Pa Reuben Famuyide Fasoranti, describing his passing as a monumental loss to Ondo State, Yorubaland and Nigeria.
The Director-General and Chief Executive of OSRC, Hon. Kenneth Odusola-Stevenson, described the late elder statesman as a custodian of democratic conscience, a moral compass and a symbol of principled leadership.
In a condolence statement issued through the Corporate Communication Unit of the Office of the DG/CE, Odusola-Stevenson said Pa Fasoranti’s life was defined by integrity, courage, selflessness and an unwavering commitment to justice and the common good.
He described the deceased as a distinguished educationist, nationalist and pro-democracy icon whose contributions to Nigeria’s socio-political development would remain indelible.
The OSRC boss also acknowledged Pa Fasoranti’s influential role in Afenifere and his consistent advocacy for equity, restructuring, good governance and the protection of democratic values.
He noted that the late elder statesman earned widespread respect across political, cultural and generational divides through his discipline, integrity and commitment to the welfare of the people.
According to him, Ondo State has lost one of its most illustrious sons, whose legacy would continue to inspire media professionals, political leaders and younger generations.
While acknowledging the vacuum created by his passing, the OSRC Media Group expressed confidence that the ideals Pa Fasoranti championed would remain relevant to Nigeria’s pursuit of a just, united and prosperous nation.
The Corporation extended its condolences to the Fasoranti family, the people of Akure Kingdom, the leadership of Afenifere, and the government and people of Ondo State, praying for the peaceful repose of his soul and strength for all those mourning him.
