The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed satisfaction with the successful conduct of ward meetings across the state’s 203 wards, describing the exercise as a major step towards strengthening grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement, the party said the meetings were organised following a directive by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to promote unity among members, energise the grassroots and establish a coordinated mobilisation structure for electoral victory.

The initiative is also aimed at securing the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and the victory of all APC candidates in Ondo State.

The State Chairman, Kolawole Babatunde, expressed delight at the impressive turnout and positive feedback from across the state, commending Governor Aiyedatiwa for his strategic leadership, inclusive approach and commitment to party unity.

Babatunde noted that the governor had directed all elected officeholders and political appointees to participate in the meetings.

He particularly appreciated the governor for ensuring that members of his cabinet could attend, describing them as important stakeholders in party affairs at the ward and local government levels.

The chairman described the turnout as remarkable, considering that the meetings were held on weekdays rather than the party’s usual weekends. He also praised the provision of logistical support that enabled members, including those travelling long distances, to participate.

Babatunde said the meetings marked the beginning of sustained grassroots engagements leading to the 2027 elections, urging members to intensify community-level mobilisation towards achieving Governor Aiyedatiwa’s target of one million votes for President Tinubu and securing victory for APC candidates across the state.

He disclosed that he would meet with the governor within the week to present feedback from the 203 wards and discuss strategies for subsequent meetings.
