Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado has reportedly returned to her country after about ten months in exile, amid significant political changes.
Machado announced her return in a post on X on Sunday, following previous unsuccessful attempts to return home.
Her return comes after the United States ousted Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and backed his deputy, Delcy Rodríguez, as interim leader, according to the supplied report.
Rodríguez was subsequently sworn in as interim president and signed an oil deal granting favourable terms to the United States.
Machado was seen attending Mass at a church in Lara State, where supporters gathered around her, embracing her and holding her hands.
She was later photographed smiling and waving from the sunroof of a car as she arrived in Caracas late on Sunday.
Her return marks a significant moment for the opposition amid continuing political developments in Venezuela.
