Vice President Kashim Shettima has called on religious leaders across the country to strengthen interfaith cooperation as part of efforts to promote peaceful coexistence, national unity and economic development.
He also urged Nigerians to support President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms, acknowledging the difficulties associated with the policies but expressing optimism that they would address longstanding structural challenges and lay the foundation for sustainable economic growth.
Shettima made the call while receiving a delegation at the State House, Abuja.
According to a statement by his spokesman, Stanley Nkwocha, the Vice President stressed the important role of religious leaders in fostering understanding among communities, promoting responsible citizenship and mobilising support to address the nation’s social and economic challenges.
He maintained that stronger collaboration across religious divides was essential to sustaining peace, strengthening national cohesion and advancing Nigeria’s development.
