The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Ondo State has commenced the distribution of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to designated ward-level collection centres across the state.
The Commission’s Head of Voter Education and Publicity, Olayinka Ogunseye, disclosed this in a telephone interview with Orange FM’s Joshua Adedeji, explaining that the exercise covers voters who registered during the first phase of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.
Ogunseye said the collection exercise runs from October 9 to 15, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. daily.
He added that claims and objections would also be entertained during the exercise.
The INEC official advised eligible voters to present their registration printouts or any valid means of identification to facilitate the collection of their cards.
He explained that voters who applied for transfers or replacement of lost or defaced PVCs could also collect their cards during the exercise.
Ogunseye, however, urged those unable to collect their cards at the ward-level centres within the stipulated period to visit their respective INEC local government offices for collection.
