Three children and a teacher have been killed in a shooting at Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend, Oregon, in the United States.
Police say the suspected gunman, a 16-year-old boy, forced his way into the school on Thursday afternoon and opened fire at locked doors before being shot dead by a bystander who pursued him into the building.
Bend Police Chief, Mike Krantz, said the children killed were aged five, eight and 11.
He added that a seven-year-old child and a 54-year-old teacher were taken to hospital in critical condition.
Police say the suspect has not been identified, while investigations are ongoing to establish whether he had any links to the school.
