JAMB SETS STRICT CONDITIONS FOR 2027 UTME CBT CENTRE ACCREDITATION

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, says only Computer-Based Test, CBT, centres that meet its prescribed standards will be accredited to conduct the 2027 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME.

The Board says the measure is part of efforts to ensure a credible, transparent and secure examination across the country.

JAMB Registrar, Professor Segun Aina, disclosed this during a meeting with the leadership of the Chief External Examiners, where preparations for the 2027 UTME and the forthcoming accreditation exercise were discussed.

According to a statement on the Board’s official X handle, the meeting focused on assessing the readiness of examination officials and ensuring compliance with operational standards.

JAMB explained that the accreditation exercise would pay particular attention to the facilities, equipment and technical capacity of centres seeking approval.

It stressed that centres without the required infrastructure and operational capacity would not be allowed to participate in the examination.

The Board said the decision was aimed at providing candidates with a fair, reliable and conducive examination environment, irrespective of their locations.

It added that strict adherence to accreditation guidelines would strengthen the integrity of the examination and minimise technical challenges associated with computer-based testing.

JAMB assured candidates and other stakeholders that adequate measures were being put in place to ensure a smooth and secure 2027 UTME.
