TOYIN ABRAHAM THREATENS LEGAL ACTION OVER DEFAMATORY SOCIAL MEDIA PUBLICATIONS

Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Toyin Abraham, has threatened legal action against individuals allegedly spreading false, misleading and defamatory statements about her on social media.

The actress’ lawyer, Tope Salami of Whitestone Solicitors and Consultancy, issued a cease-and-desist notice dated November 5, 2026, warning bloggers, content creators, social media users and influencers against publishing or circulating unverified claims about her.

Abraham shared the legal notice on her X handle on Thursday.

In the notice, the lawyer said certain individuals had been making and circulating allegations about the actress which were allegedly untrue, misleading and capable of damaging her professional image, personal integrity and reputation.

Although the notice did not identify specific individuals or mention the alleged defamatory publications, it called on members of the public to immediately stop making, reposting or distributing such content across social media platforms and other communication channels.

The lawyer also demanded the removal of existing publications, videos, comments and other materials containing statements considered false or defamatory against the actress.

He further warned against creating or promoting fabricated allegations and misleading narratives intended to ridicule, harass or damage her reputation.

The notice also cautioned social media users against encouraging cyberbullying, intimidation, harassment or attacks on the actress and her business interests.

It urged members of the public to ensure that any future comments concerning Abraham are factual, responsible, fair and supported by verifiable information.
