Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has announced plans to review selected workers’ welfare packages, including car loans, housing loans and duty tour allowances, in response to prevailing economic realities.
The state government also proposed the procurement of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered buses to ease transportation challenges faced by workers commuting to and from their workplaces.
Orange FM’s Olumide Adeluwoye reports that the governor disclosed this at the 2026 Public Service Week Celebration Lecture held at the International Culture and Event Centre, The Dome, Akure.
Speaking at the event, the Head of Service, Segun Odusanya, commended Governor Aiyedatiwa for his commitment to workers’ welfare and professional development.
Odusanya said the theme of this year’s celebration, “Harnessing the Public Service for Good Governance,” underscored the critical role of public servants in translating government policies into tangible benefits for the people.
Congratulating public servants on the celebration, Governor Aiyedatiwa thanked them for their dedication and support for his administration.
He described the lecture theme as timely, stressing that effective governance required collective efforts from political office holders and career civil servants.
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to workers’ welfare and urged public servants to ensure effective implementation of government programmes and policies under the OUR EASE Agenda.
Aiyedatiwa was among the recipients of the Award of Excellence in Public Service presented at the event.
