AIYEDATIWA: DON’T ABANDON SCHOOLS THAT BUILT YOU
Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has called on old students and education stakeholders to complement government efforts in rebuilding public schools through strategic investments and infrastructural development.
The governor made the call during the 50th anniversary of Omooluorogbo Grammar School, Akure, where he urged financially capable alumni to give back to their alma maters by improving learning facilities and creating better educational opportunities for students.
Represented by the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Sunday Olajide, Aiyedatiwa commended the alumni for transforming the golden jubilee celebration into a legacy project.
The interventions included the construction of a furnished four-classroom block, renovation of the school hall and administrative offices, provision of a generator, perimeter fencing and distribution of exercise books to students.
The governor stressed that rebuilding public schools required a collective commitment from government, alumni associations and other stakeholders, noting that such partnerships would help address infrastructural deficits and provide a safer, more conducive learning environment.
He urged former students to remember the institutions that laid the foundation for their success and support efforts to improve the quality of education for the next generation.
Aiyedatiwa also challenged alumni associations across Ondo State to use anniversary celebrations as opportunities to undertake meaningful projects that would strengthen their former schools.
